HAMMAM

A “world” depicted on the wandering painters’ canvas.

Evocations, emotions, sublimation.

The eighteenth century Orientalist painting is a travel through the soul, the spirit and culture; a place impregnated with passion and with perfumes of incense and spices.

Dream – world images, lived in the fantasy of story-tellers and listeners.

A travel across the Algerian, Tunisian, Moroccan and Sicilian – Arab hammam with an ethnic French accented language.

Pink as Ingres’ nudes; citron, pistachio, plum, wistaria and violet colours as in an end of century palette.

Ribbon skirts woven as carpets, multi-spiced coloured silks and chromatic vibrations created by the transparency and texture of veils, petit pois, “webs” and tulle.

The silhouette enjoys combining a retrò fashion with ethnic elements in a new romantic vision: coral, quartz and mother-of-pearl embroidered vintage guepière.

Trousseau laces and embroidery.

In an oneiric vision among capers, almonds and jasmine, the poetry of these places is written on bodies of travelling, inquisitive women deeply in love with life.
