PRESS RELEASE

Marella Ferrera “Museum & Fashion”, reopens the Biscari Museum.

The Catanese designer Marella Ferera will reopen the Biscari Museum, Saturday 3rd May, the historical wing of the 16th century Catanese Palace, on the 250th anniversary since its first opening by Prince Ignazio Paternò Castello V Prince of Biscari.

The Museum visited and described by Goethe in his travels in Sicily, is again brought to life with its two long Naturalia and Antiquaria Galleries, part of its original pavement, and two white-stone-altar slabs, after a 40 cm deep excavation.

The new MF Atelier, the world of Fashion will be present in the “Naturalia Gallery” while the “Antiquaria Gallery”, the true Museum- Gallery will bring back to our memory what was considered the third museum in Italy in the 16th century.

The first Grand Opening event “Beyond clothing…the Thought” in Rome in 2003 and Milano in 2004, finally comes to Catania; a travel in Sicily, a journey full of history and traditions through the incredible experiments by the “Experimenter of Fashion”.
