A cloth which tells a tale, evokes memories, dreams and thoughts: thoughts on fashion, considerations, passions, atmospheres nourished with soil, energy, light and prayers.

In this way the Island of Lava, the dark Sicily, Pantelleria, emerges strong and intense evoking research, experimentation contrasting the Verghian Land of paper, soil and pumice-stone, the sulphur mines and the island of the Malavoglia.

The soil as a substance changes to terracotta narrating myths and legends drawing from the wide Greek culture that covers the Island. Daring experimentations for mixtures and terracotta cannulae.

The African light spreads over the island coast; light as cork, cork as soil. Marsala and Trapani with its salt-lakes.

Then, Sicily with its silence, long prayer, baroque churches; embroideries as treasures stolen from sacristies, crocheted copper wires creating precious old-time lace: Gold and Silver Sicilian works.

In a corner, colour and design, the Arab island with strong intense jasmine and orange blossom perfume; the "Abito-Scalinata" reminds us of the domination through 90 hand embroided squares inspired by the Caltagirone ceramics.

Travelling throught the alleys of Scicli and Ragusa Ibla the loom embroidery stories, traditions and innovations are skilfully interlaced into a story based on wires and thoughts : Opra de' Pupi, told through decorated ceramics.
