AUTUMN – WINTER COLLECTION 2001/2002
“HEROINES AND MEDIEVAL KNIGHTS”
The
medieval mysticism with its secrets handed down the centuries makes the knights
the last “mystery men”; so the desire to be, to dress and adorn oneself like
them.
This
woman, dangerously fragile, fulfils her desire to protect herself wearing
taffetas, leather, furs, chiffon and organza laser sewn.
Leather
corsets as tight as armours, T-shirts “armed” sewed together by silk threads,
sculpture skirts cut “al vivo”, clothes with “metallic mesh”.
The
style is inspired to the Opra de’ Pupi, which again is tied to the old
traditions of the island and to the rigorous Sicilian puppet tradition of the
Napoli Brothers emanating its magic: heroines and bewitching seducers, heroes
and traitors, Bradamante and Angelica, Orlando and Gano di Magonza, Tancredi and
Clorinda, come back to life in a sort of “theatrical magic” through the
proud glances, the typical gestural language , the rhythmic and symmetrical
movements of the puppet models.
