AUTUMN – WINTER COLLECTION 2000/2001

A gallery full of art as our museums, places without time and evident actions: paintings are not placed within time, but are time.

When the armchairs and the long parade are taken away only severe scenography remains from which emerges the large golden frames of an imaginary and lively gallery of lights, background and models.

Marella Ferrera has taken inspiration from the paintings in the museums for her new creations using mirrors and reflections in which the artistic image gives life to her clothes and clothes bring to memory the artist’s image.

The darkness in the hall, evoking the dusty darkness of a painter’s atelier, recalls female figures brought to life by lights and transparency. Before these the silent spectators shall parade, as in a picture – gallery.

The selected pictures, together with other genial works all belong to the Sicilian culture: the most famous painter being Antonello da Messina renowned world-over.

The fashion models and not the artist’s models are the new muses inspirers of art that will take us back to baroque frescoes, inlayed Arab looking vaults, Immaculate Our Ladies, stucco – works and golden mosaics.

In a reciprocal exchange of glances, anticipated by the “Annunziata’s” eyes impressed on the invitation, the mystery of this “Sacred” fashion representation will vanish: are we observing the paintings or are they, from a distant time asking to come back to life for at least one day?
